The Muscogee County School District was among the first in Georgia to earn the Economic Development Partnership Designation from the Georgia Department of Education for its workforce development initiatives. This recognition, which was earned in 2017, highlights the district's robust Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education programs. Muscogee County Schools work as key partners with local industry to ensure that students graduating in the county have skills and knowledge that align with the region's workforce needs.
Local Workforce Development Means Business Success
Workforce development programs include apprenticeships, internships and work-based learning opportunities that prepare students for success in the various industries thriving in the Columbus region. Programs are also established to help match students with local companies for immediate employment after high school. There are currently 16 programs that cover Business, Healthcare, IT, Manufacturing, and more.
