On July 31st, Columbus Technical College cut the ribbon on the Col. Ralph Puckett Workforce Development Center. The $22 million facility, much of it financed through local contributions, provides accelerated career training and credentialing for a wide range of high-demand careers in a wide variety of industries, with a special emphasis on transitioning service members, military spouses, and veterans.

Puckett Center Joins Technical College System of Georgia  Network

The new Puckett Center will operate as an extension of CTC and is aligned with the Technical College System of Georgia. Here, students can receive flexible training in industry-driven programs. In addition, the center will also provide wrap-around services to support the path from learning to meaningful employment. Many of these services are veteran-oriented, enabling trainees access to military-related benefits at the state and national level. Local and national employers are working with the Puckett Center to ensure a seamless employment pipeline for qualified students who finish training and certifications. Choose Columbus is excited to see this new workforce initiative kicking off with the July 31st ribbon-cutting ceremony, as many employers seek out the wide range of soft skills, leadership experience, and education that veterans bring to the workplace.
