Columbus is a budding aerospace hub. Two key aerospace manufacturers call Columbus home: RTX/Pratt & Whitney and McCauley Propeller Systems. Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Engine Center provides engine service and maintenance for commercial and military engines, while its Columbus Forge manufactures complex engine components. Together, the two facilities employ nearly 3,000 people.
McCauley Propeller Systems’ Columbus facility is its primary manufacturing and production center. Established in 2002, the facility employs nearly 100 workers.

In 2023, Pratt & Whitney invested an additional $206 million into Columbus to expand its operation, and it’s expected to add 400 new jobs to the area by 2028. McCauley Propeller Systems continues to strengthen its partnership with Columbus by expanding its facilities and adding a second shift to its manufacturing operations.
